CHAMBERLIN, Trooper C S, of Ellerslie, s/o Mr Charles Chamberlin of Ponui Island, died unexpectedly on 21st April 1915....with the 3rd Squadron of the Auckland Mounted Rifles Regt....buried at British Military Cemetery on the banks of the Nile about 3 miles from Cairo. Twelve men of the Squadron formed a firing party.....impressive service.
