MEMBERS OF THE NZEF 1914 - 1918
WITH A NEXT-OF-KIN ADDRESS IN DENMARK OR WHO WERE BORN IN DENMARK.

In January 2008 I received an email from Hans Joergen Bruun Pedersen of Moeller Meyers Vej 8, DK 8240 Risskov, Denmark. He wrote "I am doing a research of all Danish born soldiers who died in uniform, and have at the moment only 14 from New Zealand, 83 from Australia, 253 from US, 25 from England and 2 from South Africa. Denmark did not participate in World War One, however a former part of Denmark (Schleswig of Germany) did participate and about 30,000 were drafted and about 6000 died. My grandfather was in German uniform but survived. This part of Germany was transferred back to Denmark in 1920 (we lost it in a war in 1864) and are now a full part of Denmark. I am trying to build up a database covering all war-deaths, also the 700 deaths from the mercantile navy.

These names came from Hans work and from the New Zealand Nominal Rolls from 1914 - 1918. If you have any soldiers to add to this list please let me know - thanks.
