RIFLE MATCH AT TE PUKE

A rifle match was fired at Te Puke* on Saturday, July 4th, between a team representing the local division of the TMR (Tauranga Mounted Rifles) and one composed of Civilians, the result being a victory for the latter by 11 points. The failing light restricted the firing at the 500 yeards to five shots instead of seven, which was the number fired at 200 yards. There were no sensational scores made on either side, the highest being Mr Hickson's 38 out of a possible 48 - two above average inners. The following were the scores:-
