NEW ZEALAND DISASTERS AND TRAGEDIES
MORRINSVILLE ROAD CRASH
WEDNESDAY 18 MAY 2005

On Wednesday 18 May 2005, a Mercedes-Benz Airport Shuttle van on its way to Rotorua from Auckland Airport was involved in a road accident on State Highway 27 at Ngarua, near Morrinsville in the Waikato. Nine people died as a result. This is New Zealand's second worst road accident to date and is still in the minds of many who travel that road.
