SOUTH AFRICAN VETERANS — Deaths from Influenza
Four members of the First NZ Contingent which fought in South Africa have died from influenza. Their names are:
Mr T CASEY, son of the late Mr Maurice Casey of Auckland
Major W C MORRISON, NZSC, General Staff Officer, Canterbury Military District
Mr James THORPE, Hawkes Bay, employed in the Public Works Dept
Mr R S YOUNG of Ohau, who was rather severely injured as the result of his service in South Africa and never entirely recovered.
