HEMPHILL, Captain H C, late adjutant 3rd Battalion, Camel Brigade, has been appointed second in command of the 4th Anzac Battalion and promoted to the rank of Major as from 2 August. The Brigade took part in the hard fighting around Gaza in March and April. Before enlistment he was a clerk for Whangarei County Council.
