MACHINE-GUN MEN— Message from Dardanelles
Mr Ewen McGREGOR of Rukuhia has received the following cablegram from his son, Lieutenant McGregor of the machine-gun section of the Auckland Mounted Rifles: "MORRISON and BREBNER are sick; JACKSON has been killed; PURDOM and RIDDELL and section are all well." Although the cablegram is dated Alexandria July 5, it is probable that it had been sent from Gallipoli some days earlier.
