HOULKER, Capt James, Canterbury Infantry Batt., reported killed last Thursday, and for whom a memorial service was held at the cathedral last evening, is now reported wounded and not killed.

SOPER, Albert W, able seaman, HMS Pyramus, had been wounded during operations in which the ship had been engaged. Son of W H Soper, carpenter & retired Navy man, Rotokauria, near Hamilton.

SAVAGE, Major Thomas Copeland, NZMC of Auckland, died in Cairo. Second in command, No.2 Stationary Hospital, dispatched from Wellington with the 5th Reinforcements on 12 June 1915. Attended by Sir Victor Horsley of London and Lt Col Parkes. Born Burslem, Staffordshire, where his mother still resides. Aged about 41. Attended University College, London, won the Gold Medal of his year and gained the fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons, England. President of the Auckland Flying Club (pigeons). His widow and four children reside in Auckland.
