The (New Zealand) Gazette contains the following list of awards to the Royal Humane Society of Australasia granted during 1893-94: -
Mr Herbert OLDS of Wanganui, for rescuing Edward MESSITER from drowing in the Wanganui River. Certificate of Merit.
Mr Cecil Francis ADAMS of Wellington, rescuing Percy MATER from drowning in the Wainui-o-mata River. Certificate of Merit.
Mr W F MULGAN of the Janet Nicoll for rescuing Henry GRIMES from drowning at the Railway Wharf, Wellington. Certificate of Merit.
Master Willie STEVENSON of Wanganui, aged 11 years, for rescuing Willie DUSTIN from drowning in the Wanganui River. Certificate of Merit.
Mr J D TRIPE of Wellington for rescuing G J FAMA from drowning at the Queen’s Wharf (Wellington?). Certificate of Merit.
