The above memorial is sited on the entrance way to the 'new' Wanganui Library with the following addition.
On this site Queens Park School was founded in 1879. In 1972 the school was closed and later demolished. This stone is resited here to commemorate pupils in the 1914-198 war. Rededicated to their memory - October 2000.
