RANGIORA (OLD) JOHN KNOX PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
RANGIORA, CANTERBURY

Rangiora's first Presbyterian Church was opened and dedicated in 1872 under the name of John Knox Church. It was situated in High Street on the site of the present police station. Five years after it opened, it was enlarged. This building was sold to the Orange Lodge about 1922 when the present John Knox building on the corner of High and King Streets was built.

RANGIORA PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH. ROLL OF HONOUR UNVEILED. At the conclusion of the morning service at the Presbyterian Church yesterday, the Roll of Honour, given by a member of the church in recognition and admiration of services rendered by the young men of the church who have gone to the front, was unveiled. There was a very large congregation. The unveiling ceremony was performed by the Hon. D. Buddo, M.P., who congratulated tho members of the church on being the recipients of so handsome memorial. The tablet is of marble, framed in oak and bearing the church's coat-of-arms in the centre. A sermon appropriate to the occasion was preached by the Rev. W. H. Howes. A short address was given by the Mayor. The names on the roll are:
