TRAIN DISASTER

London 25 Sept; :
While a train containing New Zealanders was standing on the up-line at Beer Ferrers, Devonshire, some of them left their carriages and crossed the line. A passing express train caught and killed nine of them. Three others were seriously injured. The killed were mostly cut to pieces and only identified by their discs. The men went to the rear of their stationary train where rations and stores were being served out. An Express suddenly came around a curve and caught the New Zealanders. Red Cross workers aboard the train rendered aid. The names of the victims are not yet available.

(See BERE FERRERS for more information)
